Wildfire scouting aircraft

Dear ASOG members,

I recently came across a LinkedIn post from Metrea about their Fireswift (C) Dash 8-300. Great and gorgeous plane.

What do you as an ASOG member/community deem necessary - sensor wise - to have on board in order to fulfill the task of "wild fire scouting from above"?

Is an EO-IR sensor enough? What about the Overwatch TK-8 smart-sensor?

Looking forward to your replies and the talks!

Best regards from Austria!
