Good Stuff Omar!

Hi Everyone,

I just want to show a sample post that one of our members has been showing on Linked-In. I hope you don’t mind Omar Herrera Rojas. Omar has for days been posting grass-roots photos & a simple caption of his aerial mapping & surveying work in Mexico…it’s like you’re there with him…plus, the cross-talk that it generates.  Here’s the latest post...look Omar up on Linked-In:

“For all colleagues that operate sensors installed on single engine aircrafts

Worst case scenario... after a long mission flight, once on the ground is when you notice that the lenses, glass filters etc are cover with oil spots, grease or dirt coming from the engine even the nose wheel in muddy conditions, also when you have a deflector installed around the camera hole, this oil acumulate there and spills all over the equipment.... then you have to evaluate the damage to the mission how many flight lines affected, reflight wait for weather, etc...2 simple modifications that might save yor next flight

Glue a stripe of foam on the deflector this will prevent the oil from spill all over the lenses, the oil absorbed by the foam will dry out, depending on each case replace the foam once is dirty, this is less than 2 USD solution

Install a simple USB camera pointing to your system, and operate it via OTG cable from your cell phone, this will allow you to check the cleaning of surfaces and help you to decide if you need to abort mission  less than 4 USD

Have a Safe flight!!”

Break, Break, Omar…when you get the chance, it would be great to hear more of your work in the ASOG Discussion Forum and the Blog Board.

Thank You Omar…Super Job!
