Basic Airborne Mission Management Systems & Sensors Course

 

The ASOG Training Center, in cooperation with FlySight S.r.i., is conducting a Basic Airborne Mission Management Systems & Sensors Course at the EUROPEAN ROTORS VTOL Show & Safety Conference.

Course Description | The purpose of the Airborne Mission Management Systems and Sensors Course is to provide participants with the essential skills and knowledge to effectively operate mission management systems and sensors, enabling them to conduct multi-mission airborne operations safely and efficientlyThe course will consist of the following content and themes:

  • Fundamentals of Flight Operations
  • Introduction to Airborne Mission Management Systems (MMS)
  • Sensor Fundamentals
  • System Interfaces and Controls
  • Mission Planning and Execution
  • Data Management and Interpretation
  • Communication Systems Integration
  • Situational Awareness and Decision Support
  • Safety and Operational Guidelines
  • Case Studies and Practical Exercises
  • System Maintenance and Troubleshooting

Agenda | The "Basic Aerial Airborne Mission Management Systems & Sensors Course" is a 2-day course that involves grouping related topics and ensuring that each day has a mix of theory, practical exercises, and review sessions to reinforce learning.

0900 – The Roles & Responsibilities of Non-Rated Aircrew in Multi-Mission Operations (Georg DeCock)

1000 – Basic Theory of Mission Management Systems and Associated Sensors (Mattia Carpin)

1100 – Basic Theory of EO/IR Systems (Charlotte Coste, Charles-Edouard DeGhamena)

1200 – Lunch

1300 – Basic Theory of Mobile Phone Detection Systems (Ewan Macdonald)

1400 – Systems Mission Planning, Task Assignment and Control (Mattia Carpin)

1500 – Sensor Management, Data Processing, and Fusion (Mattia Carpin)

1600 –Mobile Phone Detection in Multi-Mission Operations (Iria Blanco)

1700 – Day 1 Course Review/Day 2 Pre-Brief (Patrick Ryan)

1730 – End of Day 1 Training

Day 2

0800 – Beginning of Day 2 Training (Sign-In, Coffee/Refreshments-Networking)

0830 – Basic Non-rated Aircrew airmanship principles and practices (Patrick Ryan)

0930 – 1300 Practice: Training Laboratory (The class is divided into groups, i.e., Group A, B, C, D. The Groups will rotate once per 45 min)

  • Training Lab Pre-Brief – Divide Class into Groups and brief class on training/rotation procedures (ASOG - Patrick Ryan)
  • Training Station 1 – Cell Phone Locator System (Centum - LIFESEEKER)
  • Training Station 2 – Mission Management System and EO/IR Sensor (FlySight - OPENSIGHT)
  • Training Station 3 – EO/IR Systems (Safran - EUROFLIR)
  • Training Station 4 – Cell Phone Locator System (Smith Myers - ARTEMIS)
  • Training Lab Post-Brief
