Georg DeCock came across this article the other day and thought it would be helpful, especially for those ASOGers currently working on their resume/CV.
From an ASOG Career Center perspective, the author's last point is "Show, Don't Tell," is excellent advice. Try to show 2 to 3 achievements upfront, for example:
- Senior Airborne Sensor Operator Evaluator - Qualified 3.5 years as Electro-Optical/Infra-Red (EO/IR) camera Operator. Led 19 evaluators in maintaining currency and qualification of 127 ASOs, Pilots, and NFOs. Personally, trained, and qualified 12 EO/IR ASO Sailors aboard SP-3 Orion, ISR aircraft.
- Proven Training Manager - Coordinated ten training events for the Airborne Sensor Operators Group, which saved over $8,000 (20% under budget) and certified over 20 students to safely and effectively conduct aerial remote-sensing operations.

Hi Scott, I agree, matching the words on your resume with the job description is a very good TTP! Also, do you have any other tips to share with the group? Cheers, Patrick
Interestingly,
While I was ready to call BS on some of the words, at the end of the list, I have none of these on my resume. As a Human Resources purveyor, there are times when you do need to use keywords. many HR professionals use programs to "sanitize" a resume to simply see it has a valid key word count. The higher number of words that match the job description then you may then proceed to the next round of elimination.
