Wiener Neustadt, Austria – 2 Sept 2025 – For years, operators have struggled with heat distortion caused by exhaust gases during airborne
survey and surveillance missions. That’s now history – thanks to the fully certified solution from Airborne Technologies.
The CLEAR VIEW exhaust deflector kit for the Cessna 208B Caravan, now EASA-STC’d (STC-AT-
188), is engineered to divert hot exhaust gases away from sensor hatches. The result: undisturbed,
high-resolution imagery for surveillance, reconnaissance, and mapping missions.
“This issue has affected image quality and laser data for years,” says Wolfgang Grumeth, CEO of
Airborne Technologies. “With the new generation of wide-angle sensors, finding a solution became
even more critical. We’ve now developed a certified, lightweight system that works – and we’re ready
to adapt and certify it for any other single-engine platform within six months.”
